IRA are a Paramilitary, not a real Army. Ireland has its own Military which is funded by the US.

the IRA are not terrorists btw, they are the Irish Republican Army. The UN recognise them as such as thus helped the good friday agreement forward. there is a big difference between the legitimacy of the ira and say the uvf for example to anyone that understands anything about the irish / anglo situation. Dont forget alot if the IRA (IRB) supported england during WW1 on the premises of a united Ireland etc..but im sure all you know that already or you wouldnt be throwing off the cuff comments
