From "Air Lyndhurt": Dark Rise, Velvet Choker........................ ..........Note on the rejected EU Constitution and Lisbon Treaty:The people of France and the Netherlands rejected the proposed EU constitution in the 2005 referendums. After this, other countries cancelled a promised referendum and the EU Constitution was re-written as an "amending treaty" or a "reform treaty" and named "Treaty of Lisbon". On the basis of this deceit, they claimed that no referendums are necessary on the Lisbon Treaty. Ireland was constitutionally required to hold a referendum and on the 12 June 2008 the people of Ireland gave a resounding No to Lisbon. Yet this vote is not being respected and the rule of law is being ignored. The EU leaders agreed at the June 19-20 EU Summit that ratifications must go on. Moreover, no other government is asking the people. The Lisbon Treaty establishes a new "European Union" with joint citizenship - an EU "federal" State that is technically and politically empowered to centralize more power in Brussels. The treaty also stipulates the militarisation of the Union in order to 'police the world' just like the US does today......................... .........To view the Political Groups in the European Parliament go to: http://www.europarl.europa.eu/... What the Irish people need to do is start to take direct action - start by burning down Brussells (and executing Giscard D'estaing and the secret French committee that Spawned the Nice/Lisbon treaty) - then arrest every politician that tried to sneak this disgusting piece of deceitful legislation in through the back door. Euro nationalism is the trojan horse that will steal your Liberty, your life opportunities and your moneyOne day someone will erect a statue to Declan Ganley on O'Connell st.

yeahright1970 Iceland's Fishing industry is responsible for 70% of its export income which totals 4.5-5bn p.year Ireland's fishing gounds are richer due to our larger continental shelf and the gulf stream.the whole of Ireland's fishing grounds are available throughout the year as they are permanently Ice free.We signed away 80%+ of fishing income (not to mention the associated industries) when we joined the EU - Do the maths and work out our contribution!Ireland is and was a net contributor.

yeahright1970 comparing Ireland to New zealand - similar land mass/population/climate I can see that they are self sufficient in food and they export 5 times more agricultural produce than we do (and they have similar rain fall levels!)The key difference is they aren't crippled by CAP quotas and EU promoted inertia - they have stood on their own two feet without subsidies - it's called Free Trade! Ireland has the highest proportion of under utilised land in EuropeThe trouble with You tube etc.

perhaps you can explain to me how an Island of 32,000 sq miles can have a coastline that is 1/4 size of another island of 30,000 sq miles? My Point wasn't the size of the industry and it's potential proportion of GDP - it was the point that Ireland is a net contributor to the EU and always has been. we pay 2.5bn in we get 1.5bn back! We lost our Sugar industry because we sold our quotas! - you really think Germany has lower inputs than Ireland?

A weak divided Europe = Strong NATO = An even richer Declan Ganley. wake up Ireland

BeefWith all the rain in Ireland there arnt many crops outside beef that will flourish, The Beef industry is one on the least labour intensive ways of producing the highest financial yield and the obvious choice for most farmers in Ireland.SummaryThe problem with youtube is any ignorant nutcase with what ever gribe he read in the Sun can blow shite about thinks they know nothing about.
yearight1970 (September 7, 2008 at 7:18 pm)
FishIceland fish industry is 12% of it's GDP and employs employs 6% of the work force. Iceland has a coast line 3.4 times greater than Ireland ( 4,988kms vs 1,448kms ) its population is 1/20th of Irelands, that's a factor of 68. Divide 12% by 68 and if we had an equivalant fishing industry in Ireland it would amount to less than 0.2% GDPSugarIt was our high overhead costs, and low sugar prices on the world markets was the reason we lost our sugar industry.
